Agricultural centre, Salez

The small village of Salez, in the Rhine valley, on the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein, is home to this agricultural training centre. The project, made entirely of wood, is the work of architect Andy Senn.

The part used as classrooms is a wooden frame with four rows of columns, one along the façade and two in the middle of the building, which transfer the loads to the floor slab. The design of the façade contains arched galleries that surround the building, and that are made using VIGAM, the only oak glulam beam in the world with the CE marking for structural use.
