Acetylation is a natural process that completely changes the molecular structure of the wood.
This method – that does not use any toxic elements– results in a wood with greater dimensional stability, better resistance in the expansion and contraction cycles.
Acetylation makes Accoya® wood resistant to moulds and insects such as termites, etc., as they no longer recognise the wood as food.
